English Translation
Being a good translator means being a good writer. My background in linguistics has provided me with insight into how languages work, but of course, there’s more to translating than that! A translator needs to understand the world the text comes from and the one it’s being translated into. As a multi-lingual American educated in Switzerland and living in the Netherlands, I am in a unique position to create high-quality, “native” English translations that are accurate, natural and pleasant to read.
Personal attention
Working with a freelance translator means personal attention, quick responses and a direct line to a trusted partner who understands the intention behind your text. Translation agencies tend to outsource jobs to any translator available. I offer reliable, customized services at a reasonable price.
High-quality service
A good translation is not a product; it’s a professional, human service. I believe in collaboration and communication. This means that I sometimes ask my clients what they mean by a certain phrase or provide multiple translation options. Clients are also free to ask me questions or make special requests. This is all part of delivering a trusted, personal service.
Price
Like most translators, I charge per source word. The rate depends on the level of difficulty of the text and the proposed deadline. Every project is different, and I strive to offer competitive prices without compromising quality. Contact me for a quote.
